The Hilltop Camp
The Hilltop Lodge was the retreat encampment of one of our county's foremost entrepreneurs, William A. Dusenbury of Portville, New York. William and his family were true movers and shakers that helped shape our county during the industrial revolution. His mountaintop encampment was built in the Allegheny Mountain Range. The Redwood lumber he used was timbered from his forest land in California. The Hilltop has fourteen private rooms, every room has its own full bathroom and two full size beds. There are two Redwood houses and a Chalet also available.Hilltop's deal packages include, chef prepared meals served in our Main Lodge. The Allegany area offer it visitors many things to do, golf, skiing, gaming, hiking, just to name a few. Or you may just want to kick back and relax.
Hilltop Encampment (established 1928) One of North America's largest private informal Gardens. Underneath the Hilltop's old growth forest canopy are thousands of flowering evergreens that you can enjoy while walking down beautiful stone pathways that lead to large Rock Gardens. Afoot the ground is covered with myrtle, pachysandra, a verity of lush ferns and rare forest flowers.
